What is BBA?
BBA (British Board of Agrément) is the UK’s leading independence certification body for construction products and systems with over 50 years’ experience. BBA provides regular inspection services ensuring product standard and to support installers and designers. Being BBA certified is a prestigious achievement within the construction industry, it represents the continuous high standard of a product or system. The BBA status is highly regarded and used as a symbol of superiority within the market. This allows recognised quality products to have added reassurance for end users and allows businesses to maintain and advance product performance whilst ensuring reliability.
“The biggest challenge when looking to specify materials for a construction project is ensuring that the product selected has been tested, assessed and certified as suitable for use within the project framework. This is where the BBA comes in.”
The products and systems, both innovative and existing that look to achieve BBA certification, are subjected to rigorous testing and auditing before they are certified. This process looks at how they perform, both as a singular product, as part of a system and if they meet the required Building Regulations, whilst the auditing process focuses on the manufacturing method, quality plans and materials used. After achieving BBA certification, continuous standards are maintained through continuous inspection of products and systems to ensure they remain safe and fit for purpose. On-site procedures and lab equipment tests are often inspected. These rigorous reviews and tests ensure high standards of quality and safety are upheld in construction.
Resistant Building Products is proud to be awarded the BBA certification, confirming our product performance and high quality. Resistant has held, maintained, and renewed with BBA since 2015. These rigorous evaluations and reviews ensure long-term consistency, establish trust and reassurance to raise market expectation and to set a standard of excellence for MgO boards in the construction industry.
